When’s the last time you really let loose? When’s the last time you gave into those dark desires inside of you? Humans all have some dark desires lurking below the surface. There’s just something alluring about the dark side of things. People have spirit monsters just like they have spirit animals. Since we can’t all see ourselves as supervillains or politicians, some of us settle for seeing our bad sides in the forms of monsters. In the pantheon of classics, is there a baddie that you identify with more than any other? Is there a go to costume you have every year? Here’s what your spirit monster says about you.
1. Vampire
Vampires are all the rage right now. All iterations of vampires share some commonalities, from the dark bitey ones to the sparkly brooding ones. Vampires represent sexuality and control. They attack the neck, a key erogenous zone on both sexes. They drain blood, using the fluid to exert control. Modern vampires dress smartly and exude confidence. They also show control, over their victims and their forms. Vmpires can mnd control the people they bite, as well as change shape into bats, and sometimes smoke. If you see a vampire, you think you’re one smooth operator.
2. Frankenstein’s Monster
Franky represents a spirit that’s stitched together from a few different viewpoints. On the one hand, you’ve got a love and debt to science, as it infuses you with life in a way nothing else does. You might have some issues with your parents/creators. You tend to not trust hunchbacks. Furthermore, a Frankenstein spirit doesn’t know its own strength, and can hurt others without meaning to. Franky typically fears fire, which can manifest itself as a fear of passion or intimacy, or a regular pyrophobia. It also represents and electric spirit.
3. Mummy
Mummies love the royal treatment. They’re so wrapped up in themselves, they’d rather bury everything they have with them than see it go to someone else. This translates into a good work ethic, ready to build pyramids for the sake of their eternal glory. IF a person with a mummy spirit ever starts to lose their personal magic, their entire being starts to fall apart. They tend to curse a lot. Mummies hold grudges for what seems like millennia. What every mummy really needs is a nice long rest, in peace.
4. Witch
Witch spirits have by far the worst reputation on the list. People have been spreading propaganda for years, trying to discredit them. They claim they eat children they trap in candy houses, or live in houses with chicken legs, or have some fatal allergy to having a house fall on them. In reality, witches are (mostly) females who knew more than the people in charge wanted them to. In an effort to study nature or go against the patriarchy, they managed to be blamed for ridiculous crimes. Witch spirits maintain this counterculture sensibility and magnetism toward accusation.
5. Slasher
Slasher spirits are a bit harder to define, but there are some commonalities found in them. They tend to be strong silent types. They show up when you least expect them, and you can never seem to get away from them. They tend to be very judgmental of your morals, and favor people who appear innocent. They often have a history of struggles, usually dealing with families or irate communities, that have left them in such a violent and sad state. Prone to tragedy, but they never stay down for long. Slashers have an affinity for sharp things.
